The release date for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort was October 22, 2026. The confirmed platforms are Nintendo Switch 2.
What does this release include?
Nintendo’s active sports collection returns to an island resort with 12 sports and motion controls using Joy-Con 2. Familiar activities such as tennis, bowling and archery sit alongside skateboarding and thumb wrestling. Outside matches, the island offers places to explore and photograph. The offline Island Crown mode gives solo players a route through sporting ranks toward matches against Island Champions and Legends.
What to check before playing
The platform name is important: this is a Nintendo Switch 2 release, not a game for the original Switch. Nintendo also notes that extra accessories may be needed for multiplayer, so check the requirements for your chosen sport before planning a group session. Allow enough space around each player and use wrist straps with motion controls. Do not confuse this game’s edition with the earlier Nintendo Switch Sports.
