Gameplay and key changes
Santa Monica Studio’s announcement focuses on Faye’s Serpent Bow and how it works with her other attacks. A full trigger press emphasizes precision, while a partial press supports more mobile close-range shooting. Different arrow types and equipment choices change the available approach, letting the bow create openings for melee combat rather than replacing every other weapon. The studio also describes armor and other gear as part of shaping a playstyle.
Release details and buying advice
The edition details deserve particular care. The Digital Deluxe version adds equipment and digital extras, but the separately announced Collector Box does not contain the game. Buying that box is therefore not a substitute for a Standard or Deluxe copy. Some bonus equipment also requires story progression before it becomes available. The release date applies to PS5; no additional platform is inferred from previous God of War releases.
