The release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was October 23, 2026. The confirmed platforms are PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2.
What does this release include?
Infinity Ward’s release brings together a campaign, competitive Multiplayer and the DMZ extraction mode. The campaign follows conflict on the Korean Peninsula alongside Price’s separate pursuit. Multiplayer launched with 20 maps, including different formats rather than a single set designed for identical team sizes. DMZ centres on entering contested territory, securing objectives and deciding when the risk of staying outweighs the value of an extraction.
What to check before playing
The full release is distinct from the earlier Campaign and DMZ access periods and from the later seasonal rollout. Activision says the game must be purchased separately for launch rather than being included in Game Pass. Players returning for seasonal updates should therefore distinguish owning the base game from the timing of new seasonal content. SpawnBeat’s separate Season 1 report covers that later update rather than changing the original release date.
